Self-exclusion from the casinos and gaming halls

Enrolling in the self-exclusion program is free, confidential and irrevocable.

⏲️ Duration: From 3 months to 5 years | Online and at gambling locations

Is it for me?

The self-exclusion program is intended for anyone who wants to stop gambling at Loto-Québec’s casinos and gaming halls.

By enrolling in the program, you are requesting that your access to your lotoquebec.com account be blocked for the duration of your self-exclusion.

Once your self-exclusion is active, it will be active for the duration you chose, and you won’t be able to revoke it.

Once your self-exclusion has ended, you may re-enrol anytime.

What does it involve?

It’s a formal commitment

  • You agree not to visit casinos and gaming halls.
  • Your lotoquebec.com account will be deactivated, and you won’t be able to open one if you didn’t already have one, for the duration of your self-exclusion.
  • You cannot revoke your enrollment in the program.

It’s Loto-Québec supporting you

  • LQ has tools in place to help identify people who have self-excluded from casinos and gaming halls.
  • If a self-excluded person is spotted at a Loto-Québec casino or gaming hall, the staff will offer help, and the person will be escorted outside.
  • Every new online customer’s identity is checked to make sure a person enrolled in the self-exclusion program can’t open a new account.
  • Loto-Québec won’t send you any communications (including Casino Privilège ones) during your self-exclusion and for one year after your self-exclusion ends. Once your self-exclusion has ended, you must resubscribe to Loto-Québec mailings if you want to receive them again.

How do I do that?

Before enrolling

You can’t enrol in the total self-exclusion program yourself; you must ask a gambling location staff member to do it for you or contact a designated resource to support you as you take these steps.

Loto-Québec staff are trained to support anyone who asks for help or shows signs of distress. This is what we call the support chain. It’s implemented to support the person and lead them toward resources that can help if needed.

Who can I contact?

Without an appointment

You can ask any staff member for help at a casino, gaming hall or Loto-Québec Montréal’s office.

By appointment only

Contact a designated support centre to make an appointment.

Enrolling or re-enrolling

You must enrol or renew your enrollment at the location with a qualified person helping you through the process.

How to enrol
  • We’ll help you complete a form. It’s a quick process. Remember to bring your photo ID.
  • We’ll take your picture. It’ll help us recognize you if you go to one of our gaming locations.
  • We’ll close your account. Your lotoquebec.com account will be blocked , and you won’t be allowed to open a new one before the self-exclusion period ends.

After enrolling

When you enroll, we’ll offer to plan for you a call with a Gambling: Help and Referral specialist, who will call you within 2 weeks of enrolling.

During the confidential call, the counsellor will listen to and support you and give you information and references to manage your gambling habits. They will direct you to the support services and resources available to you based on your conversation. It’s up to you to use them—or not.

Keep in mind: You can use this service throughout your self-exclusion or at any other time, even if you chose not to take their call when you enrolled.
